The city of Blagoevgrad is the biggest one in Pirin Macedonia with
more than 100 000 citizens.
The church in the city consists of more than 150 people. In 1980 the church started with 8 people (2 men and 6 women). During the time of communism the congregation was chased down from the government and the services were held in the meadows outside of the city. But that could never been a barrier to stop us from serving the Lord. Even after the fall of communism the church has not been able to buy a place where to meet and have worship services. From 1989 until today we have been renting halls or have been gathering at different houses. During all that time the attendance have varied up to 200 members. We believe that having our building will help us grow in number and maturity. We now have a great opportunity to buy our own building. It is going to cost us $18,000. The land it is on is a bit more expensive - $30,000; At the moment we have about $7,000. We believe that God is powerful enough to help us with all of the rest of the money so we may have a place where to worship the Lord and train disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ. |
