The churches in Botevgrad and Pravetz are settled in a mountainous
region where the population has difficulties to support itself. This is
one of the reasons the financial situation of the churches is not very
good. Those two cities are the area of birth of our former Communist dictator
where the attitude of the people is extremely cold toward Christianity.
The churches in Botevgrad and Pravetz were planted by our General Overseer
- Pavel Ignatov during the years of communism.
Pastor Georgi Lazarov Georgiev has been ordained as a deacon in 1990.
In 1996 he is in the Revision Committee of the National Offices of Church
of God. As of 1998 he is the Pastor of the church in Botevgrad.
At the moment the church has 90 members and most of them are of gypsy
background.
So far we do not have a church building in neither one of the two cities.
The members of the churches have been gathering at renting halls so far.
Recently the church in Pravetz purchased a property that has an old
house on it.
In Botevgrad the christians have placed applications to the town-hall
authorities for purcasing a building in the city. |
